Hillary Clinton likely was attempting to reach young voters by appearing on “Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis,” but instead, it turned out to be an awkward, uncomfortable exchange.

Clinton overly was trying to play up her gender throughout the interview.

“Are you excited to be the first girl president?” Galifianakis asked.

“Well I think being president would be such an extraordinary honor and responsibility,” Clinton responded, “but being the first woman elected president, what that would mean for our country but particularly what that would mean for, you know, not just little girls but little boys, too.”

After Galifianakis ribbed about her flip on TPP, and humorously claimed Clinton told him backstage that she wanted to take away everyone’s guns, she responded, “I really regret doing this.”

It wasn’t clear if she meant it, or if it was just bad acting.

“Have you thought about what you’re going to be wearing at the debates?” he asked her.

She lamented the “double standard.”

“I think about what should the first woman nominee of one of our two major parties wear to the debate and I have no idea, so if you have any suggestions, I’m open to them,” she said.

As for Trump’s garb, she said, “I assume he’ll wear that red power tie.”

“Or maybe a white power tie,” Galifianakis responded.

“That’s even more appropriate,” she said.

Galifianakis then asked if Donald Trump wrote his own wedding vows because Hillary attended his 2005 ceremony, and Clinton responded, “I couldn’t really see or hear very well, so I’m not quite sure what his vows were.”

Will this resonate with Millennials?

To paraphrase Dirty Harry, a woman has to know her limitations.
