Hillary Clinton campaign operatives didn’t like New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio speaking his mind to reporters last summer.

Senior-level aides circulated a number of statements de Blasio made about Clinton they perceived as critical of her in June of 2015.

Communications staffers and campaign manager Robby Mook shared tweets from a Politico reporter stating that de Blasio would not be attending a Clinton rally.

I’m waiting to hear … her larger vision to addressing income inequality,ā€ Politico reporter Azi Paybarah quoted de Blasio as saying.

After communications aide Kristina Schake forwarded the message to Mook on June 10, 2015, and he responded, “Wow. What a terrorist.”

“Told you!” Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri added.

“Can we talk about calling him?” Huma Abedin replied.

“He and (Police Commissioner Bill) Bratton did a press conference today – he said all of this there,” Schake wrote back to Abedin. “We are pulling the transcript.”
