Hillary Clinton emerged after a week of rest and she looked — bone-weary.

Clinton spoke to the Children’s Defense Fund on Wednesday night in Washington, D.C. and admitted she has contemplated not leaving the house again.

“Now, I will admit, coming here tonight was not the easiest thing for me,” Clinton said during her first scheduled public appearance since losing the presidential election to Donald Trump last Tuesday.

“There have been a few times this past week when all I wanted to do is just to curl up with a good book or our dogs and never leave the house again,” she said.

The Associated Press deemed her remarks “were equal parts pep talk and funeral dirge.”

During an introduction for Clinton, Marian Wright Edelman, president and founder of the Children’s Defense Fund, appeared to not accept Trump as president.

“We love her and we appreciate all the hard work she has done and say it’s not going to be for naught,” she said. “We’re going to say that she is the people’s president.”
