The Arkansas legislature could soon be considering legislation that would drop the names of two of the state’s most famous one-time residents from its largest airport.

State Sen. Jason Rapert posted a poll on Twitter asking constituents if they would support “a bill removing the names of Bill & Hillary Clinton from the Little Rock airport.”

“Arkansas does not support them,” he noted.

Hillary Clinton only won 33.7% of the vote in November. Republican Donald Trump won 60.6%.

His poll, which has received over 5,100 votes as of 4:00 p.m. ET Friday, does not currently have a publicly available tally.

“The Clintons left Arkansas and do not reside here,” Rapert tells The Hill. “Many in our state do not want the first thing people see and last thing they remember about Arkansas being two of the most scandal-ridden politicians in American history.”

The Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission renamed the airport in honor of the Clintons in 2012.

According to Rapert, one of his legislative colleagues in the state Senate “is considering a bill that would rename the airport,” the Democrat-Gazette reports.

He declined to identify the senator, saying that person wasn’t “ready to step out on it.”

Rapert says he’s heard from many constituents who have complained about the Clintons’ names on the state’s largest airport.

“You don’t want the people of Arkansas unhappy with the gateway to the state,” he said.

“The nation resoundingly rejected the Clinton legacy, and many think it is not smart to have the gateway airport to our state projecting a message the rest of the country and our own voters rejected,” Rapert says.

“The Clinton Presidential Library is in our state and that is enough for Bill Clinton, who is a native of Arkansas.”

At least two Bill Clinton accusers are weighing in.

Juanita Broaddrick, who says then-Attorney Gen. Bill Clinton raped her in a Little Rock hotel room in 1978, and is still an Arkansas resident, writes on Facebook that the name change “would be great for Arkansas to show how we feel about the Clintons’ legacy in our state.”

Broaddrick supported the idea on Twitter.

“Hope you can accomplish it,” she wrote in reference to Rapert’s tweet.

Paula Jones, who says Clinton sexually harassed her in a different Little Rock hotel, endorses the idea, too.

“I am definitely in support 4 the removal of Bill and Hillary’s name from Arkansas national airport…what a disgrace, it’s actually torture!” Jones tweeted Saturday morning.
