Northampton County, Pennsylvania police say 49-year-old woman went berserk on her much older male roommate after an argument about how to balance a checkbook and he refused to do her laundry.
Lisa A. Shafer’s elderly roommate tells police she repeatedly abused him.
Shafer is accused of barging into the man’s room and attacking him “after an argument over how to keep a checkbook, throwing a table with a puzzle on it and yelling at him,” The Express-Times reports.
“The victim stated that Shafer then picked up kitty litter and began scattering the litter throughout his room,” Slate Belt Regional police Detective Eric Donaldson wrote in court records, according to the paper.
“He stated that Shafer then picked up a hardened kitty litter that was cat urine and shoved it in his face.”
Shafer alleged picked up a chair to smash the man’s window, but when he tried to stop her, she hit him instead.
The abuse continued days later.

On Wednesday, Shafer allegedly told her roommate to take her laundry with his to the laundromat. When he refused, she allegedly shoved him onto the couch and retrieved a knife from the kitchen.
The victim reported she held the knife to his face and demanded he do her laundry.
“He stated that he told her no and ‘Stop being crazy,'” Donaldson wrote in a report.
“He said she then placed the knife about 2 inches from his stomach and told him, ‘If you don’t do my laundry I will stab you.'”
The victim was “visibly shaking” as he recounted he attacks.
Shafer was arraigned on charges of “terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.” She was being held at Northampton County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $7,500 bail.
