How short is the Democratic bench? 78-year-old Maxine Waters is the apparent champion of millennial outreach.
The California congresswoman, who says “impeachment” more than her own name, explained to a group of young people that she’s one with them because she “was a millennial once.”

“The recent fight that I’ve engaged in because of this new president and trying to get my colleagues to understand how dangerous he is, has afforded me a really new and huge relationship with young people,” Waters told the group, according to a video published by Fusion.
“And I want you to know how pleased I am to know that I’m now ‘Aunt Maxine’ on the internet and the tweets that I’ve been in that are teaching me all kinds of new words.”
She went on, “Our millennials are a force. I recognize it. And I was a millennial once.
“No longer of course, but I love what you’re doing,” she said.
She ended her remarks by saying, “Stay woke!”
