Anna Palmer and Jake Sherman look like they’re vying to be the leaders of the Nancy Pelosi Fan Club.
The Politico reporters laughed and giggled throughout their interview with the House Democratic Leader on Friday morning.
Look at these highlights:
Talking about Donald Trump’s border wall and an import tax to pay for it, Pelosi said, “We have practically zero, maybe there’s somebody who supports it in our caucus,” as Sherman laughed.
“But they have not come forward yet,” Pelosi added, prompting Sherman to burst into laughter.
He laughed, too, when Pelosi said she supported lowering the corporate tax “to get them to pay some tax.”
He let out a hearty laugh as Pelosi controlled the conversation, sarcastically saying, “Now who do you want to talk about?” referring to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
After Pelosi told the audience she tells her fellow Democrats, “Let’s take a deep breath,” Sherman responded by laughing.
He laughed again when the House Minority Leader criticized FBI Director James Comey’s letter to Congress about the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.
Sherman burst out laughing when Pelosi mocked Donald Trump’s criticisms and her sour reaction during the president’s Address to Congress this week.
“I have a hard time just watching what’s going on,” Pelosi said.
The reporters laughed when Pelosi mocked Trump’s capacity to think.
“And then when somebody asked me about what I think is his agenda and what does he — I use the word loosely — think about these things,” Pelosi said, prompting laughs from Sherman and Palmer.
When Sherman asked her if his criticisms get under her skin, Pelosi responded, “No,” causing Sherman to laugh again.
He laughed several more times at Pelosi’s slams and attempts at ridicule.
Referring to Obamacare, Pelosi said, “Repeal and replace — the only thing they have going for it is alliteration,” prompting more laughs from the reporters.
He even laughed when Pelosi told the audience she would not reveal what the Democrats’ “game plan” will be to counter Trump’s agenda — something most reporters would probably like to obtain.
Can anyone imagine the DC media treating Donald Trump, Jeff Sessions or Paul Ryan this way?
