Democrat representative from Illinois Luis V. Gutierrez was handcuffed during a ‘sit in’ in support of illegal aliens at Chicago Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters after he ignored warnings from federal police and refused to leave the ICE offices on Monday.

He said law enforcement eventually ‘changed their minds’ and decided to let him and the other leftist agitators go.

On Twitter, Gutierrez first said he was entering Chicago ICE headquarters for a ‘meeting,’ but then he said he and the other liberal agitators would stay ‘until they got answers from ICE.’

Gutierrez then tweeted a photo of himself standing near two federal police officers, noting that they warned him he would be arrested if he did not leave. Two hours later, he posted a photo of himself being put in handcuffs by the officers.

Around two hours after that, the congressman said the federal officers were letting him go because they had ‘changed their minds’ and they didn’t arrest him because they ‘know deportation policies are egregious, unfair.’

The fact that a sitting member of congress believes people who immigrated to the United States illegally should be allowed to stay in the U.S. without any repercussions is outrageous. ICE is only following the law and deporting people who came to this country illegally, many of which abuse our welfare programs and have committed violent crimes after they entered the U.S.
