Lachlan and James Murdoch are remaking the Fox News Channel, and Maxine Waters couldn’t be happier.

During a Wednesday appearance on CNN, the California congresswoman praised Rupert Murdoch’s sons after they fired ratings king Bill O’Reilly.

“I’m very proud of what took place. The sons of Murdoch are the ones, I’m told, insisted that he had to go.

“And they’re trying to take this station into a new era and so I’m very pleased that they did that,” Water said.

She also praised the advertisers that buckled to a Media Matters-led campaign to peel of ads from O’Reilly’s show.

“I’m pleased with the advertisers who decided that they were going to pull their ads from his show,” Waters told Anderson Cooper.

Referring to O’Reilly, Waters said “there is something wrong with him psychologically.

“He obviously could not sustain relationships,” she said, claiming his “sex talk” on the telephone was proof.

Waters went on to criticize “the men” at Fox News, saying O’Reilly’s alleged behavior was “a way of life for them” at the “sexual harassment enterprise” Fox News.

“Powerful men with a lot of money, they would proposition women, take advantage of them, they thought that was normal and the way that life should be,” Wasters declared.

In announcing O’Reilly’s ouster, the Murdochs wrote, “We have full confidence that the network will continue to be a powerhouse in cable news.”
