Leaders of the mainstream media isn’t hiding its war on Donald Trump continues, and now they’re getting awards for it.

CNN’s Jake Tapper, Univision’s Jorge Ramos and NBC News’s Katy Tur each received an Individual Achievement by a National Journalist honor from the Norman Lear Center at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism on Friday, TV Newser reports.

At the event in Washington, DC, Tur claimed, “Journalists aren’t biased, and if they do have biases, it is our job to put those aside and report fairly.”

But Ramos didn’t seem to agree with Tur’s philosophy, no matter how ironic it was.

Speaking of Trump’s treatment of the media, Ramos said, “He was criticizing us because we were criticizing him.

“I think the first responsibility we have as journalists is to reflect reality as it is, not as we wish it would be, I understand that.

“But then there’s a second level,” Ramos continued, “I think the most social responsibility that we have is to challenge and to question those who are in power. So, if we have a president who lies. If we have a president who made racist, sexist, and xenophobic remarks. If we have a president who criticizes judges and the press. If we have a president who behave like a bully during the campaign, then we cannot remain neutral.

“I think on certain occasions we have to take a stand,” the Univision and Fusion anchor said.

“And it is my position when it comes to racism, discrimination, corruption, public life, dictatorships and the violation of human rights, we have to stand a stand,” Ramos said.

He then likened it to when journalists had biases against the Axis powers in World War II.

“Walter Cronkite did it. I know that many people believe that he was completely right in the middle, well, he was not,” Ramos said.

“During the Second World War and during the civil rights movement, he took a stand.”

“If we remain neutral with Trump, I think we are normalizing his behavior. He’s not an example, not even for school children, and I think it is our responsibility to be critical of him,” Ramos said.

Back in 2015, Ramos revealed his daughter was working to elect Hillary Clinton as president.

In a statement on the Fusion website, Ramos wrote:

As journalists the most important thing we have is our credibility and integrity. We maintain that, in part, through transparency with our audience, our colleagues and our critics. That is why I am disclosing that my daughter, Paola, has accepted a position working with Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

As a father, I am very proud that she has decided to actively participate in our democratic process. I hope that more young people get involved, regardless of political parties or ideological preferences. Our democracy and our future depend on that.

I completely support and respect Paola’s decision. In our family we have always cherished tolerance, dialogue and active participation in what you believe.

Like many reporters who have parents, siblings or other family members that are active in politics, this will not change how I approach my duty as a journalist. I will continue to report with complete independence and ask the tough questions, the same way I have done for the last 30 years.

He proudly shared this photo of himself taking a selfie with with daughter’s boss.

Ramos won the 2017 Walter Cronkite award from the journalism school for “advancing the conversation about what divides us as a country,” according to TV Newser.
