An August 2016 offer from Wikileaks still stands unclaimed, but is gaining renewed interest after a report by a private investigator claims a murdered Democratic National Committee staffer was the source for Democrat emails last year.

“ANNOUNCE: WikiLeaks has decided to issue a US$20k reward for information leading to conviction for the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich,” the group tweeted in August.

Rich’s murder was back in the headlines on Monday after a private investigator claimed there was a connection between Rich and WikiLeaks.

“My investigation up to this point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks,” private investigator Rod Wheeler tells Fox News.

“I do believe that the answers to who murdered Seth Rich sits on his computer on a shelf at the DC police or FBI headquarters.”

As Fox points out, WikiLeaks and Julian Assange have stopped short of identifying Rich has their source, but he “has taken a keen interest” in the case.

Wikileak’s reward was on top of a $25,000 offer from D.C. police, and a $130,000 reward from Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman.
