Seemingly seeking to diminish the remarkable scene of President Trump visiting the Western Wall during his first foreign trip in office, MSNBC reviewed the American presidents that had done the same.

Host Ali Velshi was discussing a collage of presidents on Monday, including Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George H. W. Bush, all standing before the wall.

The candidate MSNBC had hoped would be president was there, too.

“We make a big point out of the fact that Donald Trump is the first sitting president to go to the wall, but you can see there that Barack Obama was there in July, just before he became president.

“George W. Bush was there, uh, again, when he was not president,” Velshi continued.

“President Clinton, same thing, was not president when he went there.

“Hillary Clinton visited as well, and President H. W. Bush visited, but none of them did so when they were president,” he said.

“Obviously Hillary Clinton wasn’t president,” Velshi awkwardly reminded viewers.
