Now Democrats are publicly going there.

A former Obama aide is floating the theory that Russia could have hacked U.S. voting machines and manipulated totals in key states.

Evelyn Farkas, the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, speculated on MSNBC today that the outcome of the November election may have been rigged, an idea President Obama ridiculed Donald Trump for just days before the election.

Farkas said the intelligence community “said at the time … they couldn’t talk about what the effect was.

“And I understand there are a lot of variables but I think if the Russians did manage to get into some of these computer systems, especially in these critical states, there was West Virginia, Virginia, I believe Indiana, I’m not sure what all the states were, but I as a citizen now want to know what impact it might have had,” she said.

Farkas’s conspiracy theory stands in stark contrast to the statement Obama made from the White House Rose Garden just days before the election.

Obama launched into an attack on Trump, urging him to stop “whining” and claiming his complaints weren’t presidential.

Obama critiqued Trump over claims the election was “rigged” against him.

“That is both irresponsible — and by the way, doesn’t really show the kind of leadership and toughness you want out of a president,” Obama said.

“You start whining before the games even over — if, if, if, if, if, if whenever things are going badly for you and you lose, you start blaming somebody else?” he said, stuttering.

“Then you don’t have what it takes to be in this job,” the president declared, pointing over his shoulder to the Oval Office.
