President Obama being black was about all the diversity Americans could handle in the 2016 election, an MSNBC contributor claims.
Wendy Sherman told the Aspen Ideas Festival that Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump in the November election because Obama is black.
“There is no doubt that we just had eight years of an African-American president,” Sherman said, adding that is a factor “in all that we are experiencing today.”
The former acting Deputy Secretary of State told the Colorado audience, “When we make a social change, when we make a decision to do something we have never done before, we then take two steps backwards at least.
Sherman, a senior counselor to the Albright Stonebridge Group,declared, “And I believe in my bones … that it was pretty hard to elect a woman after you’ve elected the first African-American president.”
