In a classic case of “do what I say, not what I do,” Donna Brazile and the Democrats once again showed America that they believe they are entitled to live by a different set of rules than the rest of us. The outright hypocrisy of the left is alive and well in American politics.
Ms. Brazile, the embattled and controversial former head of the DNC offered her opinion via Twitter on Sunday, of the developing fallout related to the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment controversy.
She applauds the Weinstein company for firing Mr. Weinstein but makes no mention of the fact that this was tolerated for over three decades.
“The Weinstein Company has taken the lead against sexual harassment and assault,” Brazile tweeted on Sunday.
The silence where the second half of the phrase should be, “(…after three decades of tolerating it)”, is deafening.
On Friday, the New York Times published an in-depth story revealing over three decades of sexual harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
Over 40 employees at the Weinstein company were interviewed and spoke of various form of harassment occurring on a regular basis, as well as at least 8 cases of hush money being paid to the victims. According to the story, this was one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood.
Apparently, decades of sexual harassment are no big deal to Hillary Clinton either.
Clinton was one of the largest beneficiaries of Harvey Weinstein’s lucrative campaign fundraising parties.
One dinner in June 2016 which he hosted at his West Village home raised $1.8 million for Clinton, Deadline Hollywood reported. As of now, there has been no word on what Clinton plans to do with her tainted Weinstein campaign contributions.
The important lesson here, according to Clinton and the Democrats, is not about the substance of what happened, not about compassion for those victimized by this predatory behavior, but rather, its about keeping it quiet and not getting caught.
