One of the most dangerous places in Washington, D.C. is between Sen. Claire McCaskill and a mainstream media camera.
But today, in front of a citizen journalist’s camera was the last place she wanted to be.
The battleground state senator was entering a small town hall meeting when the group began to applaud.
WOW. @clairecmc does NOT want you to see where she actually stands on issues… Watch the awkward video here 😬⬇️ #MOSen pic.twitter.com/A8iKvZ2Jo3

Awkwardly, she left her seat as quickly as she got there and disappeared behind a pillar.
After several moments of silence, she reappeared, only to have an organizer protect her.
“This is a private meeting,” a woman announced, directing the attention at the man with the camera.
She claimed the event, apparently with Chambers of Commerce, was “closed to the press.”
McCaskill paced nervously, seemingly not wanting to divulge her views to the general public.
“So the public isn’t allowed here?” the man asked.
The woman said they were, but no filming was allowed.
The man then waiting on the sidewalk for McCaskill to exit the building at the conclusion of the event, and she refused to acknowledge him or answer any questions.
