Nancy Pelosi is walking with the same level of confidence Hillary Clinton had about two years ago.
The House Minority Leader — and presumed next Speaker of the House, according to the mainstream media — was beaming during an appearance on Late Night with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday.
“How are you feeling about the next six days?” Colbert asked.
Pelosi was downright giddy.
“Well, let me just say this: Up until today, I would have said if the election were held today, we would win,” she said.
“What happened today that would change that?” a concerned Colbert asked.
“What now I’m saying is we will win,” she said with a laugh. “We will win.”
The audience burst into wild applause.
“Please don’t say that,” Colbert pleaded. “Please don’t say that. Do you want to say that on Hillary’s fireworks barge that she canceled? Please, please, please don’t say that.”
“We will win. We will own the ground. We will not yield one grain of sand,” Pelosi said.
“And how long are the curtains that you’re measuring right now,” Colbert asked, seemingly worried about Pelosi’s overflowing confidence.
“If everyone votes, we’ll have an even bigger victory,” she predicted.
Statistician Nate Silver — who was wrong with his 2016 predictions — says the Democrats have an 86 percent chance of retaking the House majority.
FiveThirtyEight is predicting the Dems will gain 39 House seats, several more than the 24 needed to recapture control.
