Meet the person now just two heartbeats away from the presidency.
The new Speaker of the House behaved strangely again on Thursday as she suffered bouts of gibberish, brain freezes, face spasms and moments of staring off.
Nancy Pelosi, who was voted Speaker by 219 of her colleagues — including the socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — took to the microphones after the vote.
“We um,” she said seeming to short circuit, then regaining her thoughts, “As you are aware, uh, we have— we are diligent, diligent and persistent…”
After suffering a face spasm while introducing a colleague, Pelosi slurred through the name of Lucille Roybal Allard.
While defending the Democrats opposition to improved border security, Pelosi said, “We you want to detect drugs, as we all do, then there is, uh, uh, uh— technology that can scan…”
“…beef up the ports of entry to do that,” she continued moments later, “but there’s no reason,” suffering a face spasm, “the wall in my view is an immorality.”
Denouncing Trump, Pelosi said, “And now, he wants to use the shutdown of government as a h— ha,” spasming again, and claiming Trump is abusing public employees.
Just a short time earlier, she wondered aloud if she had skipped part of her speech.
“As we take the oath of office today,” Pelosi said, “we accept responsibility as daunting and demanding as any previous generations of leadership have faced.
“Guided by the vision and values of our Founders, the sacrifice of our men and women in uniform,” she continued, “and the aspirations that we have for our children, let us meet that responsibility with wisdom, with courage, and with grace.”
Concluding moments later: “God bless you all and God bless the United States of America.”
Then she announced to herself, “I think I skipped a couple pages. I’m not sure,” on a hot mic.
