Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has only been in Congress for a week, and she has done a fantastic job of proving to everyone that she’s a total hypocrite.

On Thursday, her campaign was fined by the state of New York for not carrying workers’ compensation insurance for a month while she ran for public office last year.

“The employer did not have the required workers’ compensation coverage from March 31, 2018, to April 30, 2018, and was issued a final penalty of $1,500, which was paid,” state Workers Compensation Board spokeswoman Melissa Stewart said.

“This coverage is vital to ensuring workers are protected for on-the-job injuries,” Stewart added.

Adding insult to injury, the so-called champion of workers’ rights is anything but that.

In fact, she has taken to Twitter numerous times to rage against “greedy employers,” which is apparently what she is.

Ocasio-Cortez also recently flip-flopped on donating her congressional salary during the government shutdown.

Last week, the 29-year-old socialist was asked if she will honor her own advice to lawmakers to “have some integrity” and give up their salary while the federal government is shutdown.

When asked about donating her salary, Ocasio-Cortez told a reporter, “I’ve gotta run.”

Ocasio-Cortez dodging the question came after she urged members of Congress on Dec. 22 to have “integrity” and give up their salaries during the partial shutdown like some federal workers.

“Next time we have a gov shutdown, Congressional salaries should be furloughed as well. It’s completely unacceptable that members of Congress can force a government shutdown on partisan lines & then have Congressional salaries exempt from that decision. Have some integrity,” she wrote.

Two weeks ago, she endorsed the idea of lawmakers — which includes herself — giving away their salaries during a shutdown.

Now that she’s a member of Congress who will be paid $174,000 a year, Ocasio-Cortez literally ran away from a question about her own idea.

Earlier this week, she was proven to be a total hypocrite a third time since taking office barely a week ago.

She has been demanding that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency be abolished for nearly a year.

“#AbolishICE means not having an agency that incarcerates children and sexually assaults women with impunity,” Ocasio-Cortez posted to Twitter in August.

“An agency that has systematically and repeatedly commits (sic) human rights abuses cannot be reformed – it must be abolished,” she wrote in October.

But the day she got in Congress, the New York socialist voted for a spending bill that fully funded ICE.
