Bernie Sanders has officially gone off the reservation.

While bizarrely dressed in mountain gear while in South Carolina, the Vermont Senator paid tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy.

During his remarks, Sanders called President Donald Trump a “racist” and accused him of trying to divide Americans.

Oddly enough, Sanders accusing the president of being a bigot came while Trump and Vice President Mike Pence were visiting the MLK memorial in Washington, D.C.

“Today we say to Donald Trump: We are not going back to more bigotry, discrimination and division,” Sanders said at an NAACP rally in South Carolina.

“We are going forward toward a non-discriminatory society where, as Dr. King reminded us, we judge people not by the ‘color of their skin, but by the content of their character,’ ” he added.

Sanders, likely eyeing a 2020 presidential run, went on to claim that Trump has “purposely and aggressively attempted to divide us up by the color of our skin, by our gender, by our nationality, by our religion and by our sexual orientation.”

The entire speech was aimed at pandering to the far left fringe of the Democratic Party.

Despite being dressed like he was going skiing in the mountains, Sanders pushed for raising the national minimum wage to $15/hr, Medicare for All, and “real criminal justice reform.”

Of course, Sanders made no mention of the fact that Congress — with major help from the White House — just passed a historic criminal justice reform bill with major bipartisan support.

Sanders rounded out his remarks by slamming Trump’s proposed border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, arguing that the money should instead be put toward his socialist wish-list.

“It should be used to put people in this country to work building the affordable housing we desperately need,” Sanders claimed.

Earlier on Monday, Trump made a surprise trip to MLK’s memorial and paid respects to one of the most influential African-Americans in U.S. history, which isn’t something a “racist” would have done.

Trump also tweeted out an official presidential address that honored MLK and fight for equality.

While Sanders has been busy railing against Trump, he’s spent very little time addressing sexual harassment allegations against his own campaign.

Earlier this month, Sanders told CNN host Anderson Cooper that he wasn’t aware of the numerous allegations because he was “a little bit busy.”

“Just to be clear, you seemed to indicate that you did not know at the time about the allegations. Is that correct?”Cooper asked.

“Uh, yes,” Sanders responded. “I was a little bit busy running around the country, trying to make the case.”

Samantha Davis, the former director of operations in Texas and New York in 2016, told The New York Times that she felt marginalized and “pushed aside” after declining to go to her supervisor’s hotel room.

“I did experience sexual harassment during the campaign, and there was no one who would or could help,” David said.

In an email obtained by the Times, a delegate wrote: “There was an entire wave of rotten sexual harassment that seemingly was never dealt with.”

The Times’ expose came in response to another report detailing how a group of Bernie staffers have been trying to meet with the Vermont socialist to discuss their bad experiences while working on his campaign.

Maybe Bernie should focus on his own issues before attacking Trump.
