People are either completely unaware that Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is running for president or they could not care less about her campaign.
During a stop on Monday night at a bar in Iowa City, Iowa, the New York senator was speaking to a small crowd and trying to engage with potential voters.
When one woman was trying to make her way through the crowd, she came into contact with Gillibrand.
As Gillibrand turned to speak with her, the woman hilariously explained that she was “just trying to get some ranch dressing.”
“And here’s video of the woman ‘just trying to get some ranch,’ while Senator Kirsten Gillibrand speaks to supporters in Iowa City,” CNN’s DJ Judd wrote in a tweet with the video clip.

Ouch!
In a series of tweets, Judd also detailed how several voters didn’t seem too enthusiastic about Gillibrand.
Gillibrand has not officially announced that she’s running for president in 2020, but has formed an exploratory committee.
Judd reported that the first question Gillibrand got on Monday night was about whether she has officially announced her bid for the White House.
It speaks volumes that voters don’t know that and may be indicative of the uphill battle Gillibrand faces to secure the Democratic nomination.
“Why not do it now?” a voter asked Gillibrand.
First question for Kirsten Gillibrand in Iowa City is about whether or not she’s declared an official presidential campaign (she has not, just an exploratory committee). “Why not do it now?” a voter asks. “Because I want it to be special!” she says, adding she’ll announce soon.

Gillibrand also thanked twice failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for putting “65 millions cracks” in the glass ceiling, referring to the roughly 65 million people who voted for her in the 2016 presidential election.
While in Iowa, Gillibrand also made it clear she wholeheartedly supports the socialist Green New Deal and amended her statement on the alleged attack against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett.

Gillibrand said she wants to “wait to find out the facts” amid the new revelations, yet she didn’t wait long at all to condemn the attack last month and imply people of color are being maligned in the U.S.
Smollett claimed that he was physically assaulted in Chicago last month by two men in ski masks who poured bleach on him, put a rope around his neck like a noose, and yelled, “This is MAGA country.”
According to ABC News, two Nigerian brothers were arrested last week by Chicago Police in connection to the alleged assault and later released after telling law enforcement that Smollett paid them to stage the attack.
One of the Nigerian brothers is Smollett’s personal trainer and they both reportedly told police that the entire attack was a hoax.
Police also have evidence that the brothers had bought the rope that was put around Smollett’s neck at a local hardware store.
