California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newson just pulled a Jim Acosta.
Newsom made a visit this week to San Ysidro, California, and declared that there’s no “national emergency” at the southern border.
“So we’re right here on the Mexican border, you can see the Mexican sign,” Newsom began, smirking as if he’s about to deliver a hot take.
“We are at arguably the busiest border crossing in the United States. We are trying to highlight a different story as it relates here,” he added.
Newsom said he was trying to “highlight the economic vibrancy that is demonstrable here at the border.”

In their tweet, local news outlet KUSI News stated that the area Newsom visited not only has one border wall, but a second one is currently being built.
As detailed by KUSI News, once the second border wall is completed, San Diego will have the most “fortified border in the country.”
Perhaps the area is economically vibrant and completely safe because it is now one of the safest areas on the border thanks to walls.
Newsom’s incredible self-own is eerily similar to what happened with Acosta earlier this year.
In January, the CNN correspondent traveled to McAllen, Texas, as part of the press pool covering Trump’s visit to the border.
He broadcasted himself standing next to large steel slats along the border between the United States and Mexico.
“I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen, TX area of the border where Trump will be today,” Acosta tweeted.

While complementing the area for being very nice, Acosta claimed there was “no crisis” at the border.
“There are no migrants trying to rush towards this fence,” he said sarcastically.
Like Newsom, Acosta also didn’t even consider that the area was so “nice” and safe because there was a giant border barrier protecting the American city.
Seems like every time liberals try to prove how “safe” the border is, they are doing so while standing behind big, beautiful barriers that are keeping them safe.
