Do the American people care more about supporting socialist Democrats or securing the southern border?
Based on where Americans are sending their hard-earned money, it would appear building a border wall on the U.S.-Mexico border is far more important than donating to the campaigns of Democrats running for president in 2020.
To date, roughly $20.7 million people have donated to the We The People Will Build The Wall campaign, which was started by Brian Kolfage, a triple amputee veteran who created a Go Fund Me page late last year to help raise money for the border wall.
Since the campaign was launched in December 2018, over 352,000 people donated to the viral campaign.
The largest donation came from an anonymous user, who gave $50,000 to the campaign to help protect America from drugs, terrorists and criminals.
As evidenced by the graphic below from The American Mirror, the American people gave far less money to five Democrats in the first 24 hours of their presidential announcements.
As noted by Axios, failed Texas senatorial candidate Robert “Beto” O’Rourke brought in $6.1 million in the first 24 hours of officially announcing that he is seeking the 2020 Democratic nomination.
O’Rourke raised more money than any other Democratic presidential candidate in the first full day after announcing his 2020 bid last Thursday.
Sen. Bernie Sanders came in a close second and raked in $5.9 million.
Sen. Kamala Harris had $1.5m in donations, with Sen. Amy Klobuchar getting $1 million and Sen. Elizabeth Warren having around $300,000.
In the first 24 hours of these top Democrats respectively announcing that they are running for president, they collectively brought in around $15 million.
That means that the American people donated roughly $5.7 million more to the border wall movement than to the campaigns of the top five Democrats running for president.
It would certainly seem that the American people would rather send their hard-earned money go to securing the border rather than to help a socialist Democrat become the next president of the United States.
