Freudian slip, Madame Speaker?
As Nancy Pelosi was speaking with the AP today about Democrat presidential candidates, she slipped and called the numerous accusations against Joe Biden “frivolous” before correcting herself.
The AP doesn’t include the question to Pelosi that prompted her to answer, “I guess what I’m most interested about with Vice President Joe Biden is what he has done in his career for the American people, and indeed for women.
“In terms of the Violence Against Women Act, issues like equal pay for equal work, all the things that he has stood for,” she said.
“But apart from women, our community in general which women benefit from. So again, I know that there’s a fascination with the frivolous— it’s not frivolous,” she overruled herself.
“A woman comes forward, it’s important. But what we want to know is what are you going to do to help America’s families deal with the concerns they have about globalization, what they’re going to do about innovation and technology,” she said.
The House Speaker went on to say if we’re going to “talk about women,” then “let’s talk about women more completely than just if Joe Biden is from a school of thought that is more friendly.”
Pelosi said she would like to see two women on the Democrat ticket, but there doesn’t need to be any for her to support it.
