Pretty soon Robert “Beto” O’Rourke will be holding campaign rallies in phone booths.

The presidential candidate — currently at 2% in national polls — held a rally for Clinton, Iowa voters in a local classroom.

Not a college lecture hall, but a classroom at the Gateway Area Community Center, according to the Quad City Times.

Watch:

There didn’t appear to be more than 75 people at today’s event.

O’Rourke saber rattled against the NRA in an area that flipped by nearly 28 points to Donald Trump.

He said “universal background checks” work but that “we’re scared of the NRA and the gun lobby” and claimed “we will not stop the sales of weapons of war and assault rifles into our communities where they are turned around and used against us in our schools, in our mosques, in our synagogues, in our churches, in our public life.”

He told the dozens he would “respect and defend” the Second Amendment, “but we will not do so at the price of the lives of our fellow Americans.”

Yesterday, O’Rourke spoke to mostly empty pews at a Waterloo church.
