Broward County Schools have over 15,000 teachers, but only a sliver of them came out to hear Robert “Beto” O’Rourke speak on Tuesday.
On the eve of the first Democrat debate, Beto was in North Miami kissing the ring of Big Labor, but photos show there was a lackluster turnout, as the candidate played to empty seats in the front row.
The American Federation of Teachers didn’t even try to obscure the vacant chairs:

Note the empty front row seats on the other side of the room, as well.
This video shows empty seats in the middle section, directly in front of O’Rourke:
Right now, Democratic Presidential Hopeful and former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke is talking to educators in North Miami about some of the stories from teachers and parents about their problems with the school system. I’m live at 6 @CBSMiami pic.twitter.com/Q0I1oTTV3K

Union president Rhonda “Randi” Weingarten exposed more empty seats in her photo:
And at the town hall we didn't just discuss public ed. @BetoORourke discussed the immediate threat of climate change, solutions to gun violence, and ways to protect Social Security and Medicare. pic.twitter.com/kPXNGXcepo

There were apparently so few RSVPs, organizers sectioned off a portion of the North Miami Middle School gymnasium to not further embarrass the candidate.
Beto’s campaign video did a little better job hiding the empty seats, but alas, they’re still there:
Judging by this video, taken prior to the start of the event, there weren’t that many chairs to begin with:
It’s debate season, y’all. I’m at North Miami Middle School covering an American Federation Teachers town hall with @BetoORourke.
