Broward County Schools have over 15,000 teachers, but only a sliver of them came out to hear Robert “Beto” O’Rourke speak on Tuesday.

On the eve of the first Democrat debate, Beto was in North Miami kissing the ring of Big Labor, but photos show there was a lackluster turnout, as the candidate played to empty seats in the front row.

The American Federation of Teachers didn’t even try to obscure the vacant chairs:

There were apparently so few RSVPs, organizers sectioned off a portion of the North Miami Middle School gymnasium to not further embarrass the candidate.

Beto’s campaign video did a little better job hiding the empty seats, but alas, they’re still there:

Judging by this video, taken prior to the start of the event, there weren’t that many chairs to begin with:

Tonight, O’Rourke is scheduled to appear alongside Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Amy Klobuchar, Tulsi Gabbard, Tim Ryan, John Delaney, Jay Inslee, Bill de Blasio and Julain Castro in the first round of debates this week.
