Bill Clinton attended a Billy Joel concert with Hillary at New York City Thursday night, the former president’s first appearance in public since the arrest of his billionaire buddy Jeffrey Epstein.

While Epstein awaits his fate in a Manhattan jail, charged with sex trafficking children, Joel dedicated his 1992 hit The River of Dreams to the former first couple at Madison Square Garden, where the audience booed his “good friends.”

“I dedicate this next song to my good friends who are here tonight, Bill and Hillary Clinton,” Joel said.

The announcement was initially applauded by some, but the crowd quickly shifted to mostly boos, the New York Post reports.

Pictures and video posted online shows the Clintons attended the show with former White House director Jennifer Palmieri and advisor Adrienne Elrod.

“Always fun to see @Billyjoel with my good friends @HillaryClinton and her husband,” Jason Sparks, a D.C. IT tech, posted to Twitter with a picture of the duo.

Steven Cohen, a backstage worker, posed for selfies, as well.

The concert was the first time Bill Clinton has ventured into public since Epstein’s arrest last weekend, though he issued a statement denying any involvement in Epstein’s sexploitation scheme.

Epstein is charged with sex trafficking young girls in an elaborate scheme that involved homes in New York, Florida, and his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Epstein maintained a close relationship with Clinton, as well as many other celebrities and powerful politicians. Epstein previously pleaded guilty to state crimes in 2008, but served only months in jail with work release as part of a plea agreement arranged by Alex Acosta, who resigned from his position as Secretary of Labor on Friday amid public outrage.

“President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes (Epstein) pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York,” Clinton wrote in a statement Monday.

“In 2002 and 2003, President Clinton took a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane: one to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa, which included stops in connection with the work of the Clinton Foundation,” the statement read.

“Staff, supporters of the foundation, and his Secret Service detail traveled on every leg of the trip. He had one meeting with Epstein in his Harlem office in 2002, and around the same time made one brief visit to Epstein’s New York apartment with a staff member and his security detail,” Clinton alleged.

“He’s not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade, and he has never been to Little St. James Island, Epstein’s ranch in New Mexico, or his residence in Florida.”

Experts who have interviewed Epstein’s victims and combed through the billionaire’s flight logs allege the former president is a liar.

Investigative journalist Conchita Sarnoff, one of the first to expose Epstein, told Fox News the facts belie Clinton’s claims.

“I know from the pilot logs and these are pilot logs that you know were written by different pilots and at different times that Clinton went, he was a guest of Epstein’s 27 times,” she said. “Many of those times Clinton had his Secret Service with him and many times he did not.”

Sarnoff tried to talk to Clinton about the scandal, but he refused, she said.

“Almost every time that Clinton’s name is on the pilot logs there are underage girls there are initials and there are names of many, many girls on that private plane,” Sarnoff said.

There’s a strong financial connection between Clinton and Epstein, as well.

“First of all, Gerald Lefcourt, who was one of Epstein’s attorneys back during the original arrest and the original investigation, wrote a letter which has been made public,” Sarnoff said. “In that letter, Gerald Lefcourt claims that Epstein was one of the original funders of the Clinton Global Initiative. He gave President Clinton $4 million, according to a source who knows a story about that.”

The bottom line:

“I’m saying, sadly, that he is not telling the truth,” Sarnoff said.
