Democrat members of the U.S. House of Representatives spent part of their Saturday fueling up migrants waiting to illegally cross America’s southern border.
Several members of Congress visited detention and processing centers for illegal aliens, before crossing into Mexico to dish up food to a long line of migrants preparing to breach the border.
KGBT’s Sydney Hernandez was along with them to document it:

California Rep. Jackie Speier and Texas Rep. Filemon Vela could be seen serving hot food to a large group camped near the border in Metamoros, Mexico.
Hernandez said she spoke to some of the migrants waiting to be fed and they were from Cuba.
“And they were really really happy to see people from the United States feeding them,” she reported.
She asked why they were coming to the U.S. and they said they already have family in the country “that told them they can seek asylum” and “right now is a good time to do it.”
Rep. Nydia Velazquez of New York and Rep. Jim McGovern of Massachusetts could also be seen feeding the group:

According to Hernandez, there were 20 members of Congress in all.
