The 2020 Democrat presidential primary is turning into a race to the most extreme gun grab promises, and former vice president Joe Biden is upping the ante.
The 76-year-old career politician outlined his thoughts on the Democrat discussion to ban or confiscate guns from lawful gun owners during a recent campaign stop in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he preened for the cameras at the Hawkeye Area Labor Council Picnic on Monday.
Joe Biden makes the most extreme gun-control push of all the 2020 Democrat presidential candidates:
Biden calls for banning “magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them”
All magazines hold “multiple bullets,” that’s the point

“Joe Biden makes the most extreme gun-control push of all the 2020 Democrat presidential candidates: Biden calls for banning ‘magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them,’” The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra posted with a video on Twitter. “All magazines hold ‘multiple bullets,’ that’s the point
“This call from Biden would ban most handguns,” he wrote.
Biden alleged it’s “absolutely mindless” for Americans to own guns that fire more than one round and alleged the U.S. Constitution authorizes the government to take them away.
“The idea that we don’t have elimination of assault-type weapons, magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them, is absolutely mindless,” Biden told reporters, his wife Jill at his side. “It is no violation of the Second Amendment, it’s just a bow to the special interests of the gun manufacturers and the NRA.
“It’s got to stop,” Biden said.
Biden is only one of most Democrats running for president in 2020 who are floating promises of gun grabs and bullet bans to punish law abiding citizens for deranged criminals who kill people.
Former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke has used recent shootings in El Paso and West Texas, where a lunatic went on a shooting spree and killed seven people on Saturday, to try to reinvigorate his campaign in recent weeks without success.
Speaking to an MSNBC reported in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday, O’Rourke also made a bold promise about how he would crack down on gun owners, if elected.
Robert Francis O’Rourke announces that if he’s elected he is going to confiscate your guns:
Reporter: How do you address fears that the government is going to confiscate people’s semi-auto firearms?
O’Rourke: “I want to be really clear, that’s exactly what we are going to do” pic.twitter.com/IQxIkhM1Yj

“How do you address the fears of the government is going to take away those assault rifles – if you’re talking about buybacks and banning?” the reporter questioned.
“So, I want to be really clear that, um, that is exactly what we’re going to do,” O’Rourke said. “Americans who own AR-15s, AK-47s, will have to sell them to the government. We’re not going to allow them to stay on our streets, to show up in our communities.”
Other candidates, like Marianne Williamson, have more elaborate plans.

Williamson backs universal background checks, and bans on bump stocks, assault weapons “and the bullets needed to shoot them,” according to an editorial she wrote for The Washington Post.
Like most Democrats, Williamson thinks the NRA and gun manufacturers are to blame. But she also acknowledged that “our government is indirectly and directly violent in the countless ways it uses its power to help those who do not need help and to withhold support from those who do.”
She bemoaned federal defense spending and denounced politicians vying for the Democratic presidential nomination, claiming “the idea of politicians who allow this to happen being the ones who are going to save us from the epidemic of violence in America is almost laughable.”
Regardless, Williamson and other Democrats want to give government bureaucrats and politicians more control over all aspects of life in America to “transform our culture” into something better.
“I propose a U.S. Department of Peace to coordinate and harness the powers of conflict resolution; restorative justice; violence prevention; trauma-informed education; mindfulness in schools; child and family wrap-around services; social and emotional learning; and a world-class peace academy to train and to deploy thousands of peace-builders, plus national conference and a presidential task force for peace creation,” Williamson wrote.
With no guns, or bullets, who could resist?
