Congressman Hank Johnson is making his case for why Donald Trump deserves to be removed from office, and it’s got a little something to do with the president’s unrepentant abuse of height privilege.

“My colleague from Georgia talks about how Democrats are trying to make (Ukrainian) President Zelensky look weak,” Johnson said Thursday. “Well I tell you, that brings to mind the picture of President Trump and President Zelensky meeting in New York in September at the UN. And a big chair for President Trump, little chair for President Zelensky.

“Big, 6-foot-4 president Trump,” Johnson continued, balling his fist to convey strength, “5-foot-11 Mr. Zelensky, President Zelensky.”

Johnson then went on a tangent about abusing the imbalance of power as if the POTUS had Zelensky’s daughter “in the basement duct taped.”

“They’re standing there and president Trump is holding court,” Johnson continued with his flashback, “and he says, ‘oh by the way, no, uh, prid quo … no pressure.’ And you saw President Zelensky shaking his head as if his daughter was downstairs in the basement duct taped.

“I mean, there’s an imbalance of power in that relationship. It always has been. And there’s no way that the nation of Ukraine can stand up to the power, the power, of the United States of America,” he said. “And President Trump used that unequal bargaining position …”

The White House responded to Johnson’s pontifications with a picture of reality: Trump shaking hands with Zelensky at the UN, both seated in equally sized chairs.

“JUST IN: Democrats want to impeach the President for (checks notes) being too tall,” The White House tweeted.

The crazy comments from Johnson aren’t the first time he’s said something stupid on the record.

In May, the Georgia Democrat criticized Trump internet stars Diamond and Silk for making money off of their relationship with the president. The dynamic duo barked back at Johnson to put him in his place, and he then leveraged the exchange in a fundraising campaign to raise money for his re-election, The American Mirror reports.

Johnson was also featured in Diamond and Silk’s mockumentary Dummycrats for other boneheaded remarks he’s made during his 12 years in Congress, including demeaning references to midgets and other nonsense.

In one infamous 2010 exchange during a hearing in the House Armed Services Committee, Johnson questioned Admiral Robert F. Willard, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, about the impact of sending thousands of more troops to Guam, a small island territory of the U.S. with about 180,000 residents.

“My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize,” Johnson told Willard.

“We don’t anticipate that,” the admiral replied.

In 2014, Johnson was voted “worst speaker” and “most clueless” by congressional staffers in The Washingtonian’s biennial “Best & Worst of Congress.”
