As campaigning is hitting a fevered pitch in the waning days before the Iowa caucuses, Joe Biden continues to play to tiny crowds.
Biden was in Des Moines today — the largest city in the state — and he had an audience of about 60 people, according to our count.

Biden was campaigning at Urban Dreams, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
NBC News reporter Marianna Sotomayor tweeted Biden’s upcoming campaign schedule, which indicates he’s putting on the full-court press to win the early state.

There’s a good reason why he’s doing so.
A recent New York Times/Siena College poll of likely caucusgoers finds Biden in third, the New York Times reports.
Biden is currently in third with 17 percent. Bernie Sanders is leading in the poll with 25 percent, while Pete Buttigieg is in second with 18 percent.
Elizabeth Warren is nipping at Biden’s feels, in fourth place with 15 percent.
