Are Nancy Pelosi’s problems contagious?

California Congresswoman Maxine Waters appeared on MSNBC on Friday, and awkwardness ensued as she repeatedly looked off camera, fiddled with her earpiece and suffered a Pelosi-esque brain freeze.

As host Chris Hayes introduced Waters, she quickly smiled, and fluffed up her collar, brushing the microphone.

As Hayes continued, she glanced at the camera, before gazing off to her right and away from it.

After Waters gave a lengthy answer looking off camera, Hayes brought up the “hush money payments” Michael Cohen allegedly made to two women and said, “Is that not in your mind a high crime or misdemeanor?” referring to the threshold for impeachment.

“Oh, certainly, absolutely,” Waters said, clearing her voice loudly into the mic.

“This president has lied,” she continued, “uh, he said that, you know, he had not,” before stopping awkwardly, then looking at the camera, “the president said that he has not paid off anybody, but he certainly has,” she stopped again, fiddling with her earpiece.

Waters acknowledge at the House committees are “coordinating their efforts” against Trump.

“I think it’s a very good thing that we’re doing,” she said.

The 80-year-old Waters continued the appearance by looking off camera.
