CNN is insinuating that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is lazy for a recent break from the campaign trail for the “under budget and ahead of schedule” grand opening of Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C., while completely ignoring the long breaks enjoyed by his less vigorous Democratic competitor.

“To people who say you’re taking time out of swing states to go do this you say?” a CNN reporter asked Trump in the lobby of the hotel.

Trump, of course, was quick to point out his rigorous campaign schedule, and opine about what he thinks of the notion that he’s somehow taking it easy.

“I say the following: You have been covering me for the last long time. I did yesterday eight stops and three major speeches and I have been doing this for weeks straight.

“I’m going to North Carolina, then I’m going to Florida. I’m going up to New Hampshire,” Trump said. “For you to ask me that question is actually very insulting because Hillary Clinton does one stop then she goes home and sleeps.

“And yet you’ll ask me that question. I think it’s a very rude question to be honest.”

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway also defended Trump’s time off the trail to launch his hotel as a great analogy for what the Republican candidate plans to accomplish for America.

“It shows Americans the tangible accomplishments of Donald Trump. He’s somebody who builds things. He’s somebody who fixes things,” Conway told Today. “I think you’ll see today the tangible accomplishments of Donald Trump.”

“I mean, Hillary Clinton went from being ‘dead broke’ to being a quarter of a billionaire, how’d she do that? Did she bring a company public? Did she build great hotels? Did she hit the Powerball? None of the above. She sold access,” Conway said.

“He’s got the most active campaign schedule of the two candidates by far,” she said.

A closer look at the scheduled events of both presidential candidates shows it’s not even close.

Trump was in Springfield, Toledo and Geneva, Ohio today, and will make three stops in three states on Friday – Manchester, New Hampshire; Lisbon, Maine; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, according to DonaldJTrump.com.

Clinton, meanwhile, has one event scheduled for Thursday, an Early Vote Rally in Winston Salem, North Carolina. On Friday, its two rallies in Iowa – Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.

Her campaign website does not list another event with the former first lady as a speaker until her Election Night Event in New York City on November 8.
