Rep. Rashida Tlaib admitted this week House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may not be on board with the socialist ideas being pushed by some freshman lawmakers.

While speaking with FOX Detroit on Tuesday, the Michigan congresswoman gave conflicting answers on whether Pelosi supports the Green New Deal.

“You know what she says to me? You have to represent your district. She says that to every new member, represent your district. She has never asked me to back down on any issue,” Tlaib said, referring to her conversations with Pelosi.

“What’s incredible is like, even if she’s not jumping up and down about Medicare for All, we’re still proceeding with Medicare for All,” she said.

After claiming Pelosi supports the Green New Deal, Tlaib then backtracked.

“Is she endorsing Green New Deal? No, but that hasn’t stopped us,” Tlaib said.

Tlaib became a household name earlier this year when she referred to Trump as a “motherf***er” in front of her younger son and vowed to impeach the president.

But more importantly, there’s no real evidence that Pelosi “supports” the socialist Green New deal, which was sponsored by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

In fact, Pelosi can’t even remember the name of the socialist measure.

During a news conference last week, Pelosi suffered brain freezes, repeated words, and struggled remembering the name of the New Green Deal.

The House Speaker said some of the Democrats’ ideas for “climate change” “will be consistent with some of what’s in the— in, uh, the, the Green Deal— New Green Deal?” she said, looking at the reporter for help.

She called it the “Green Deal” several times.

During an appearance at The Economic Club of Washington, D.C. earlier this month, the California Democrat was asked to comment on the socialist Green New Deal.

Pelosi again called it the “Green Dream.”

“What is it?” she asked, looking at the moderator. “Green New Deal,” she said, acting as if she had no idea about the measure.

In February, Pelosi again called it the “Green Dream” and said “nobody knows what it is” shortly after it was introduced by Ocasio-Cortez.

“It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive. The Green Dream or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it right?” she said.

The core of the socialist legislation is to require the U.S. to eliminate “pollution and greenhouse gas emissions” and meet “100 percent of the power demand in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources” within 10 years.

The legislation calls for every single building in the United States to be “upgraded or replaced.”

But more importantly, the cost of the Green New deal could literally bankrupt the nation.

One of the first studies found that the measure would cost an estimated $7 trillion. Another study found that it could be closer to $50 trillion, with a third study finding that it could actually be around $93 trillion.

Ocasio-Cortez’s measure is so bad that even liberal Union leaders have predicted that the socialist overhaul would lead to catastrophic job losses in a variety of industries.

Perhaps Pelosi doesn’t support the measure because it could literally bankrupt the nation.
