The United States has gone from former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt having fireside chats with the nation to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doing Instagram live videos while making black bean soup in her Instant Pot.

On Sunday night, the newly elected congresswoman from New York held an Instagram live session and took questions from her viewers on a variety of topics.

In between making black bean soup and randomly talking about only supporting the most progressive candidates in the country, Ocasio-Cortez was asked how to pay for the Medicare for All plan that she supports.

“The same way we pay for bombs and for war,” she said in between tossing stuff in her crock pot.

“Y’all figured out a way to pay for a $2 trillion tax cut, so why don’t we just use that way,” she added, comparing a massive socialist redistribution plan to the government reducing taxes for a vast majority of the nation.

Two recent studies have shown that the “Medicare for all” plan would increase government health care spending by $32.6 trillion over 10 years, which could bankrupt the United States over time.

Ocasio-Cortez was then asked about supporting Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her bid to become the Speaker of the House.

“Right now, out of the field, I would say that she is the most progressive candidate,” she said, warning that she wants new leadership, but fears Pelosi may be the most liberal of the possible candidates.

“I do think that, overall, in government, we need more young people and we need to transform our leadership, but when we say ‘no’ to [Pelosi] just for the sake of that, we don’t want to put ourselves in a position where we end up with more conservative leadership,” she added.

This is just one of many, many eyebrow raising comments made by Ocasio-Cortez in recent months.

On Saturday night, Ocasio-Cortez rallied supporters on Facebook to help Democrats take back “all three chambers of Congress.”

“The Progressive movement works and it wins in all districts…If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress– three chambers of government,” she said, struggling to finish her thought.

After realizing there aren’t three “chambers” of government, she attempted to clarify by saying she meant the House, Senate, and White House.

The three branches of government are the legislative, executive, and judicial, and it was quite obvious to many that the 29-year-old socialist had no idea what she was talking about.

Prior to that, Ocasio-Cortez endorsed plans to primary members of her own party who aren’t progressive enough.

The 29-year-old socialist told Justice Democrats in a video conference on Saturday that she supported the group’s efforts to primary Democratic incumbents who aren’t liberal enough on issues.

“Long story short, I need you to run for office,” Ocasio-Cortez told the far-left group.

“We need new leaders, period. We gotta primary folks,” said Saikat Chakrabarti, Ocasio-Cortez’s chief of staff.

During the call, Ocasio-Cortez reportedly endorsed the group’s efforts to primary against incumbent Democrats who don’t support Medicare for All, abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, rejecting corporate money to PACs, and implementing a progressive “Green New Deal.”

While in Washington, D.C., last week for orientation, the socialist darling stormed the office of Pelosi for a protest and complained that she kept being mistaken for an “intern or spouse” while touring Capitol Hill.

She vented her frustrations in a series of tweets on Wednesday, lashing out because people aren’t aware of who she is or giving her special treatment.

“People keep giving me directions to the spouse and intern events instead of the ones for members of Congress,” she tweeted.

Before that, the young socialist attacked the “electoral system” because she can’t receive her congressional salary until she becomes a member of Congress.

All of this considered, in January, Ocasio-Cortez will begin receiving $179,000 annually as a member of Congress.
