New York Democratic Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez cautioned everyone the day after Thanksgiving, a time to enjoy with family and loved ones, that we are all going to die soon if we don’t address climate change.
On Friday, the 29-year-old socialist tweeted her over-the-top reaction to a report from the federal government on climate change, demanding that the U.S. make it a top priority.
In the tweet, Ocasio-Cortez called on Congress to create a special committee focused on addressing climate change.
“People are going to die if we don’t start addressing climate change ASAP. It’s not enough to think it’s ‘important.’ We must make it urgent. That’s why we need a Select Committee on a Green New Deal, & why fossil fuel-funded officials shouldn’t be writing climate change policy,” she wrote.

Ocasio-Cortez apparently believes climate change could cause serious harm within the next decade, but her math is a little off.
In October, she claimed that climate change could kill people within 12 years, but then said in another exchange that it could happen in 10 years.
The IPCC told us this week that we have only 12 years left to avoid climate disaster.
We also learned that only *100 companies* are responsible for 71% of global emissions.
To save ourselves, we will need a mass mobilization towards 100% renewable energy.https://t.co/IKbuXiQYwU

So, according to her logic, climate change will begin killing people in either 10 or 12 years.
This is just one of many eyebrow raising comments made by Ocasio-Cortez in recent months.
The day before Thanksgiving, she took to Twitter to lash out at “Republican commentators” who she claims are “stalking” her on social media.
Cognitive dissonance is Republican commentators stalking, doctoring, + editing my casual livestreams out of context in order to sow doubt in my intelligence, all while blindly supporting a man who thinks our greatest defense against forest fires is: A Rakehttps://t.co/RsfyPT6rGy

“Cognitive dissonance is Republican commentators stalking, doctoring, + editing my casual livestreams out of context in order to sow doubt in my intelligence,” she wrote before claiming President Donald Trump wants to use “a rake” to defend against forest fires.
Last weekend, Ocasio-Cortez rallied supporters on Facebook to help Democrats take back “all three chambers of Congress.”
“The Progressive movement works and it wins in all districts…If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress– three chambers of government,” she said, struggling to finish her thought.
The three branches of government are the legislative, executive, and judicial, and it was quite obvious to many that the 29-year-old socialist had no idea what she was talking about.
Earlier this month, the media darling told local radio station HOT97 that she’s fighting for a slew of “free” stuff.
“We’re really fighting for a working class agenda. We’re fighting for universal healthcare. We’re fighting for tuition free colleges… This is what — not just what our district needs — but what the city needs and what the country needs,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
Prior to that, she endorsed plans to primary members of her own party who aren’t progressive enough.
While in Washington, D.C., two weeks ago for orientation as a new member of Congress, the socialist darling stormed the office of Pelosi for a protest and demanded a “New Green Deal” to address climate change.
During that same week, she complained on social media that she kept being mistaken for an “intern or spouse” while touring Capitol Hill.
Ocasio-Cortez has also come under fire for attacking the “electoral system” because she can’t receive her congressional salary until she becomes a member of Congress.
