New York Democratic Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez argued that the migrant caravan swarming the U.S. southern border is comparable to Jews fleeing Nazi Germany during the Holocaust.
On Sunday, videos scorched across Twitter showing a large group of migrants throwing rocks and attempting to barge into the country at the San Ysidro port of entry, which connects Tijuana, Mexico and San Diego, California.
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, with assistance from some of the troops President Donald Trump sent to the border, closed the port of entry and used tear gas in an attempt to send the migrants back toward Mexico.
In response to videos and images of the incident, Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to condemn the U.S. for securing the border and forbidding the migrants from freely entering the country.
Asking to be considered a refugee & applying for status isn’t a crime.
It wasn’t for Jewish families fleeing Germany.
It wasn’t for targeted families fleeing Rwanda.
It wasn’t for communities fleeing war-torn Syria.
And it isn’t for those fleeing violence in Central America. https://t.co/qhv7Rr1itn— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) November 25, 2018

A video clip uploaded to Twitter from The Reagan Battalion shows several of the migrants throwing rocks at the border toward U.S. Border Patrol agents.

The 29-year-old socialist was comparing people who attacked U.S. federal Border Patrol agents with rocks to innocent Jews who attempted to flee during World War II to escape being murdered by the Nazis.
She was also arguing that the migrant caravan fleeing their native countries is comparable to those who have fled from murderous dictatorships and war in the Middle East.
She’s correct that applying for asylum is not a crime, but illegally crossing the U.S. border and chunking rocks at federal immigration officials is against the law.
This is just one of many eyebrow raising comments made by Ocasio-Cortez in recent months.
Last week, the Democratic darling cautioned everyone the day after Thanksgiving that we are all going to die soon if we don’t address climate change.
In the tweet, Ocasio-Cortez called on Congress to create a special committee focused on addressing climate change.
People are going to die if we don’t start addressing climate change ASAP.
It’s not enough to think it’s “important.” We must make it urgent.
That’s why we need a Select Committee on a Green New Deal, & why fossil fuel-funded officials shouldn’t be writing climate change policy. https://t.co/bn6NloGlaY

The day before Thanksgiving, she took to Twitter to lash out at “Republican commentators” who she claims are “stalking” her on social media.
“Cognitive dissonance is Republican commentators stalking, doctoring, + editing my casual livestreams out of context in order to sow doubt in my intelligence,” she wrote before claiming President Donald Trump wants to use “a rake” to defend against forest fires.

Last weekend, Ocasio-Cortez rallied supporters on Facebook to help Democrats take back “all three chambers of Congress.”
“The Progressive movement works and it wins in all districts…If we work our butts off to make sure that we take back all three chambers of Congress– three chambers of government,” she said, struggling to finish her thought.
The three branches of government are the legislative, executive, and judicial, and it was quite obvious to many that the 29-year-old socialist had no idea what she was talking about.
Prior to that, she endorsed plans to primary members of her own party who aren’t progressive enough.
While in Washington, D.C., two weeks ago for orientation as a new member of Congress, the socialist darling stormed the office of Pelosi for a protest and demanded a “New Green Deal” to address climate change.
During that same week, she complained on social media that she kept being mistaken for an “intern or spouse” while touring Capitol Hill.
Ocasio-Cortez has also come under fire for attacking the “electoral system” because she can’t receive her congressional salary until she becomes a member of Congress.
