Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now invoking SpongeBob SquarePants to attack critics of her Green New Deal.

The New York lawmaker took to Twitter on Tuesday to share a picture from the hit Nickelodeon show in response to those who are not on board with her socialist measure.

“#GreenNewDeal haters’ plan to address Climate Change,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a tweet, which featured an image of a character’s home from SpongeBob SquarePants.

The picture shows a home belonging to a character in the show named Sandy Cheeks, who is a squirrel that lives in an air-filled glass enclosure.

All of the characters in the show live underwater in the ocean.

Ocasio-Cortez didn’t specify what her point was, but it appears she was arguing that climate change will lead to rising sea levels.

With that utterly insane logic, she’s apparently arguing that unless actions is taken — presumably Congress passing her Green New Deal — sea levels will rise so high that everyone will be forced to live in air-filled glass enclosures, like Sandy the squirrel.

The core of the socialist legislation is to require the U.S. to eliminate “pollution and greenhouse gas emissions” and meet “100 percent of the power demand in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources” within 10 years.

The legislation calls for every single building in the United States to be “upgraded or replaced.”

That means taxpayers will be stuck footing the bill for hundreds of millions of buildings in the country being upgraded or completely replaced.

As her socialist measure suggests, Ocasio-Cortez apparently wants Congress and the federal government to force all homeowners to make their homes more eco-friendly.

But more importantly, the cost of the Green New deal could literally bankrupt the nation.

One of the first studies found that the measure would cost an estimated $7 trillion. Another study found that it could be closer to $50 trillion, with a third study finding that it could actually be around $93 trillion.

Ocasio-Cortez’s measure is so bad that even liberal Union leaders have predicted that the socialist overhaul would lead to catastrophic job losses in a variety of industries.

But rather than have any serious debate about the legislation, Ocasio-Cortez would rather share pictures of a cartoon show to attack her “haters.”
