Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to ban all air travel, but not immediately because she’s probably going to need it when she hits the road in a few months.

The New York lawmaker took to Twitter on Thursday morning to announce that she’s teaming up with the Sunrise Movement to embark on a 15-city and 50-state speaking tour to sell her Green New Deal.

“Let’s go: ‘We’re starting a 15-city tour + a 50-State campaign, starting in early primary states, to build political and public support for a Green New Deal.’ – @sunrisemvmt #ThisIsWhatDemocracyLooksLike,” she wrote in response to a video clip describing the speaking tour.

One of the main tenets of the Green New Deal is to ban air travel in 10 years and dramatically replace or upgrade vehicles because Ocasio-Cortez and her socialist allies argue they are destroying the planet.

Apparently, her plan is to travel around the country, which would leave a huge carbon footprint, to promote doing the exact opposite.

But more importantly, how will Ocasio-Cortez and the group embark on this 50-state tour?

How do you get to Hawaii without taking a plane? Will they swim? Take a boat?

Does the group plan to take an electric car to all 50 states? Are they going to walk?

Will the group be transported by “non-fossil fuel” powered methods?

Taking a high-speed rail system is now out of the equation given California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom announced this week he was cancelling the project because it’s too expensive.

Maybe they can take bicycles? Although it would be pretty tough to manufacture them without steel and rubber. Maybe they will use wooden bikes?

Aside from Ocasio-Cortez oozing with hypocrisy, a 50-state speaking tour may not be enough to help get the Green New Deal passed in Congress.

The core of the socialist legislation is to require the U.S. to eliminate “pollution and greenhouse gas emissions” and meet “100 percent of the power demand in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources” within 10 years.

The legislation calls for every single building in the United States to be “upgraded or replaced.”

That’s right, that means taxpayers will be stuck footing the bill for millions of buildings in the country being upgraded or completely replaced.

The socialist “Green New Deal” begins by claiming “human activity is the dominant cause of observed climate change over the past century.”

The measure then asserts that “a changing climate is causing sea levels to rise and an increase in wildfires, severe storms, droughts, and other extreme weather events that threaten human life.”

Ocasio-Cortez and Markey go on to argue that the United States will lose $500 billion in annual output by 2100 due to climate change.

If true, that’s a very tiny percentage compared to the estimated $7 trillion that the “Green New Deal” will cost taxpayers to implement.

In fact, the legislation is so bad that even liberal Union leaders are predicting the socialist overhaul would lead to catastrophic job losses in a variety of industries.
